Firstly I would like to send our heartfelt condolences to Jacqui, our president, on the sudden death of her mom. Lilian will be missed by everyone in the village and our hearts go out to Jacqui, her father and the rest of the family during this very sad time.
We have been asked if we can serve refreshments after the funeral and of course the answer is yes. If anybody is willing to bake a cake, provide a shop bought cake or is able to assist on the day please contact Liz, Dee or Chris. As soon as we know the date of the funeral we will pass the information on to you.
We have a number of trips and events over the next couple of months. If you have not already paid for these in full then please give the outstanding balances, in an envelope, with your name and which event you are paying for, to Dee at the meeting on Wednesday or you can put it through her home letterbox. Please ask one of us if you are unsure of her address. Payment is required by the end of the week.
The trip to the Victorian Christmas Market at Gloucester Quays on Friday November 15th proved so popular that Dee has been able to book a second mini bus and there are a few seats available. Cost £12 members £15 non members.
There are also a few places available on the Willow Workshop on Saturday November 2nd 2-5 pm where you will be making an angel to display in your garden over the festive season. £40 members £45 non members. Cost to include all materials and refreshments. Please contact Dee for further details.
Our speaker on Wednesday will be from the Warwickshire Air Ambulance. As you know this is our chosen charity this year so the proceeds of the raffle will be passed over at the end of the year. The competition is to make anything using a pumpkin. This could of course be a lantern, but what about pumpkin pie or pumpkin soup?
We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday October 2nd at 7.30pm.
