Welcome to our June Newsletter. I hope you have all been taking full advantage of the extraordinary sunny weather we are having. Although no doubt some of us are finding it a bit too hot for comfort. We are never satisfied are we?
As many of you are aware the new law regarding GDPR (General Date Protection Regulations) came into force last month. When you joined WI you completed and signed a form with your personal details and paid a fee. This is deemed as permission for personal details to be held as the membership represents an agreed contract. This information will only be used to contact you on WI business. GDPR also applies to pictures and photographs we take at any event or meeting. We need you to opt out if you are not happy to be included in these photos etc.
It won’t be too long now until our August Tea. The date is Wednesday August 1st and this year it will be taking place in the grounds of one of our members in Lane End, Lower Tysoe. The cost is £7.50 and this includes a welcome glass of Prosecco, sandwiches, choice of cakes and various savouries. We need to know ASAP how many of you will be attending so that we can give final numbers to the caterers.
Once again the WI are in charge of the teas at the Tysoe Flower Show. Liz will be putting out a notice asking for volunteers etc.

By popular demand we will be returning to the Worcester Christmas Market and Fair on Friday November 30th – members £12.50 non members £16. Those who attended a couple of years ago really enjoyed the day. My goodness, November is proving to be a very busy month.
For those who ordered T shirts Dee will be bringing them to the meeting on Wednesday.
If you are paying for any trips etc please bring your monies in an envelope with your name, trips or events you are paying for and a note as to how many people including. Hopefully this will alleviate any hold ups at the meeting. As usual a receipt will be provided by Dee.
We are looking for many, many poppies to decorate the church for the Festival of Remembrance to commemorate the ending of World War 1. We would be very grateful for your help in this. Poppies can be made in any medium at all – knitted, crocheted, felt, fabric, crepe paper, card stock etc. Please click on the link where you will find crochet and knitting patterns. Templates for felt, fabric or paper flowers are available from the Craft and Laugh Group.

Tysoe are taking over the organisation of the Shipston Group meetings for the next 12 months. There will be two social events taking place here in Tysoe during that time; the first one will be in the autumn. It is a great opportunity to meet up with other WI members within our group. More details will be available later.
We look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday evening when we will enjoy “Singing Along With Cathy”. This will certainly be something different and I for one am looking forward to seeing what Cathy Morris has in store for us.
The competition is “Something Inspired By Music.” And of course don’t forget the Flower of the Month competition – unless your garden is totally wilted in this heat!
